Cypress Point to Pioneer Street (12300 South) -- Crews will complete installation of pipe on Cypress Point by mid-week and on Pioneer by the beginning of next week. Paving will follow and is expected to be completed by Aug. 15. This fall, once all new pipe is tested and before it is placed in service, crews will tie-in pipe at the corner of Pioneer and Hillcrest (1700 East), but tie-in work will not impact traffic.

Highland Drive between Ellerbeck Lane and 13130 South --Pipe has been installed in this section. The horse trail on the west side of the road will be restored.

Pioneer Street (12300 South) from Cypress Point to Hillcrest St. -- Crews continue installing pipe on Pioneer west to Cypress Point. This work is scheduled to be completed by July 22. Motorists can expect lane restrictions to allow for movement of pipe and equipment. Local traffic and access to driveways will be maintained and no interruption to residents' gas service is expected.

Hillcrest St. -- In the next few weeks, new speed bumps will be installed to replace the ones that were removed during installation of pipe.

Ellerbeck Lane between Hillcrest St. and Highland Dr -- Pipe is installed and paving has been completed. Thank you for your patience.

Highland Drive between Ellerbeck Lane and 13130 South -- Pipe has been installed in this section. Over the next two weeks crews will complete final cleanup and re-paving. Expect temporary lane restrictions in work zones. The horse trail on the west side of the road will also be restored.

Dimple Dell Park -- Crews in the gulley in Dimple Dell Park between 10300 South and 10600 South in Sandy are continuing final restoration of the right-of-way. This work is expected to have little or no impact on local traffic, but sections of jogging and horse trails are subject to temporary closures while work is completed. Closed trails will be clearly marked and for their safety visitors are advised to adhere to suggested detours and closures. The mainline crew has moved north to the area behind Smith’s and 24-Hour Fitness between Sego Lily and 10300 South and are installing new pipe. This work is expected to have little or no impact on local traffic or access to these businesses.

1700 East and Hidden Valley Club Drive -- Crews have started to install pipe at the intersection and in coming weeks will continue east on Hidden Valley Club Drive. Expect brief delays and one-way traffic in work zones. Local traffic and access to driveways will be maintained and no interruption to residents’ gas service is expected.

Hillcrest St. (1700 East) and Pioneer Street (12300 South) -- Crews are installing a new block valve on the east side of the road. This work should take several weeks during which time lane restrictions will be implemented to provide adequate work space. When the valve is installed, crews will begin installing pipe on Pioneer west to Cypress Point.

Ellerbeck Lane between Hillcrest St. and Highland Dr -- Crews have installed about two-thirds of the pipe on Ellerbeck and expect to begin prepping for final paving and cleanup after Memorial Day. Ellerbeck will be re-paved from curb to curb. Local traffic and access to driveways will be maintained and no interruption to residents’ gas service is expected.

Highland Drive between Ellerbeck Lane and 13130 South -- A mainline crew is trenching on Highland and heading south. Lane restrictions are in effect on work zones. This section is scheduled to be completed by July 2.

Hillcrest St. between 12300 South and Ellerbeck Lane -- Crews are nearly finished installing new pipe on this section and two-way traffic should be re-opened by the end of next week after cleanup and repaving. Meanwhile, at the north end of the street near the corner of 12300 South, work will begin soon to install a new block valve on the east side of the road. This work should take several weeks during which time lane restrictions will be implemented to provide adequate work space Ellerbeck Lane between Hillcrest St. and Highland Dr - Work on this section has been delayed while the trench that was washed out following last week’s waterline break is reinforced. Please be aware that the existing trench cannot be covered until the underlying fill is replaced and is strong enough to support plates and traffic. The trench is expected to be restored up to the point where the break occurred by the end of this week or the beginning of next week. Crews will then begin placing pipe in the trench. One-way traffic will be implemented during this work. Local traffic and access to driveways will be maintained and no interruption to residents’ gas service is expected.

Weekdays during work hours (7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) traffic will be flagger-controlled and limited to one-way in both directions. Temporary road closures and detours can also be expected in narrow sections of street. At night, any open trenches will be plated. Access will be maintained to driveways. No interruption to residents’ gas service is expected.

By the end of the week or early next week, crews will begin removing asphalt along trench route in preparation to install new pipe. 1700 East between 10600 South and 11800 South --Crews continue to install pipe along 1700 East and by Dec. 11 are expected to have reached the intersection of Wasatch Blvd. Beginning Dec. 11, work will be temporarily suspended for the holidays. Interim asphalt paving will be in place and equipment removed during this period. Work to complete the final section between Wasatch Blvd. and 11800 South will start again in mid-January and will last a few weeks. During construction, crews will make every effort to maintain traffic flow in both directions in work zones on 1700 East, but temporary lane closures and turn restrictions (mainly at intersections and to accommodate movement of pipe and equipment) can be expected. 1300 East between High Point Parkway (8020 South) and East Sego Lily Drive (10200 South) -- Crews are completing tie-ins and testing new pipe at several locations on this stretch of 1300 East. Next week, crews will be working at 8600 South, 9830 South and on1150 East at 7800 South. For public and worker safety, traffic in the vicinity of 8600 South and 9830 South will be limited  to one lane in both directions daily between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Work at these locations is expected to take at least a week to complete. The speed limit in work zones is 35 mph. Temporary left-turn restrictions in medians and intersections can be expected. To avoid delays, motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes whenever possible. Every effort will be made to maintain access to businesses and driveways in construction zones at all times.

Work along this stretch is expected to last until the end of this year. Flaggers are present and lane restrictions are in place for the next five weeks at the intersection of Wasatch Blvd. and 1700 East. 1300 East and Buttercup Drive (10075 South) -- Effective Saturday, Sept. 6, Buttercup Dr. at 1300 South will be closed to traffic as crews install pipe across this intersection. Closure of Buttercup Drive is necessary due to number and location of buried utilities in 1300 South at this location. Access to and from Buttercup Drive at 1300 South will reopen on Sept. 14. As an alternate route, motorists can access Buttercup Drive via 1410 East off of East Sego Lily Drive.

1300 East from 4500 South to Van Winkle Expressway -- Crews are finishing up at this location. Paving and final cleanup are scheduled for this week and the southbound lane on 1300 East between Murray-Holladay and Van Winkle should be reopened to traffic next week. Thanks to nearby residents for your patience while this work was completed.

1300 East from Fort Union Blvd. to Forbush Ave. (7755 South) -- Crews are trenching and installing new mainline pipe in the median between 7180 South and Creek Road. Access to shopping centers, office building and condos and apartments is being maintained, however lane closures and turn restrictions are in effect in this section on Union Park Ave. and 1300 East. Traffic congestion can be heavy at times. A temporary left-turn restriction is in effect north bound on 1300 East onto west bound Fort Union Blvd. Work in this section is expected to last another six to eight weeks.

1300 East between High Point Parkway (8020 South) and East Sego Lily Drive (10200 South) -- Crews are operating bore rigs in the median at several locations on this stretch of 1300 East. To limit open trenching in the new road, crews are boring under the median islands. Some trenching will be required at intersections to connect sections of pipe. The bore between 8700 South and 9000 South is scheduled to be pulled today. The bore between 9880 South and 10075 South is scheduled to be pulled Saturday. To provide room for crews and equipment, temporary lane restrictions can be expected in both directions between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Two lanes of traffic will be open northbound during morning rush hour and southbound during afternoon rush hour. The speed limit in work zones is 35 mph. Temporary left-turn restrictions in the median and intersections can be expected. 1200 East between 7600 South and 7800 South -- Crews are installing pipe to the new regulator facility behind the Asian Star restaurant t. On High Point Parkway between 1200 East and 1300 East lane restrictions are in effect in the work zone. This weekend, crews will begin trenching to install mainline pipe on 1200 East. Traffic NB and SB between 7600 South and 7800 South will be flagger-controlled and limited to one-way in both directions. This work is expected to take five to six weeks.
