Feeder Line 8 Capacity Enhancement Project Website.
Questar Gas is replacing a section of its system in Midvale known as Feeder Line 8. (Feeder lines are larger, steel pipelines that supply smaller main and individual service lines which connect to meters at homes and businesses.)
This website provides general information about the project as well as current information on construction activity and related impacts on local traffic.
This project is necessary to keep pace with increased demand for natural gas due to customer growth. It will also enhance our ability to continue providing safe, reliable natural gas service by making our system easier to monitor and maintain.
The section of Feeder Line 8 slated for replacement with new, 12-inch-diameter steel pipe is about 4.5 miles long. It runs from 1300 West Street (in West Jordan) to 1300 East Street primarily along 7800 South Street on the west side of I-15 and along 7500 South Street on the east side of I-15. (See map.)
Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-Janaury 2013 at 1300 West and 7800 South and proceed east. Crews may also be working at various locations along the project route such as intersections and canal crossings to expedite completion. Allowing for weather and other project demands, the entire Feeder Line 8 project is expected to be completed by October 2013.
This project may involve some nighttime and weekend work. Traffic-lane restrictions can be expected in work zones. Watch this site for the latest traffic information. Please drive carefully and obey all signs and flaggers. To avoid congestion in construction zones, motorists are advised to use alternate routes and to allow plenty of travel time to get where they're going. We appreciate your patience.
